Tin Stone Little Cricket was born to our beautiful first-calf heifer, Sassy, after a long and surprisingly unproductive labor. After a few days of Sassy not progressing and seeming uncomfortable, we called the vet and he came to examine her. Sadly, after trying everything to deliver the calf normally, he was unable to due to an injury Sassy must have suffered in her last few months of pregnancy. An emergency C-section was performed to give both Sassy and the calf the best chance at survival but, after three heartbreakingly difficult weeks and the most valiant fight to stay alive to love her calf, Sassy passed away.

Cricket was 21″ and an incredibly strong calf at birth… and such a beautiful surprise! We were just thankful for a healthy, live calf but Sassy gave us such a treasure: a heifer calf to adore and always remember her by.
