Breeding Plans for 2027

Tin Stone Little Cricket was bred to BWT Summer Solstice for an early April 2027 calf! We are so excited about this pairing because Sunny has some wonderful grass-fed genetics behind him as well as excellent udders! Sunny is A2A2 and homozygous polled, his dam is BWT Sunshine, 43″ at maturity, and his sire is NW Pioneer, 40″ at maturity.

Cricket had a beautiful bull calf in 2026, this time we are praying for a heifer that looks just like her! She is A1A2 and heterozygous polled, so her calf will either be A1A2 or A2A2 and polled. Cricket is 42″ and not only beautiful but an excellent little milker – she peaked at almost 4 gallons in her second lactation.

MJF Etta Jane Butters was bred to HBF Patriot for a late April 2027 calf! We love the small size and correct conformation on Patriot, and are looking forward to seeing his very first calves hit the ground next year. Patriot’s dam is HBF Moonshine Hannah, just 37″ at maturity, and his sire is Sure Shot Pendleton, 42″ at maturity.

Etta had an adorable painted heifer in 2026, and we are so thankful to have another Etta baby on the way for 2027. At almost 15 years of age, Etta is continuing to amaze us with her ability to stay so healthy… and spicy! She is A1A1 and dehorned so her calf will be A1A2 and heterozygous polled. Etta gives 3.5 gallons at just 39″ – she’s truly a fantastic little milk cow!

Tin Stone Charlotte Royale was bred to HBF Patriot for an early May 2027 calf! We think with Lottie’s beautiful head and Patriot’s small stature and correct conformation, this calf should be stunning!

Lottie had a lovely painted heifer in 2026, and we are just excited to see what she gives us in 2027. Lottie is 42″, A1A2 and homozygous polled. Her calf will be either A1A2 or A2A2 and homo polled. She has blossomed into such a nice little milk cow – she gives about 2.5 gallons a day and stands like a saint in the milk parlor.

Dexter Corner Lilibet Luv was bred to HBF Patriot for a late May 2027 calf! Lili has some fantastic genetics behind her and we are very much looking forward to seeing what this pairing produces.

Lilibet has calved twice and given us two heifers, wonder what she’ll give us this time? Honestly, as long as it’s healthy, we’ll be so very grateful! Lili is 42″, A1A1 and heterozygous polled, so her calf will be A1A2 and polled. She gives about 2.5 gallons at peak and is, thankfully, much better behaved in the milk parlor than her dam!

Homesteady’s Honey Bee has not settled yet, but we are hopeful! We have some plans to bring in a new young bull to see if we can still make a 2027 calf out of our beautiful Honey Bee a reality 💛
